Description
On this tour we will spend a full day touring the most representative places in the north of Tenerife.
Our first visit will be to the Teide National Park, located in the heart of Tenerife and home to the highest peak in Spain: the volcano El Teide. Here we will stop for about 30 minutes to admire the impressive volcanic landscapes of Las Cañadas del Teide, not forgetting the emblematic Roques de García.
After this visit, we will descend to Icod de los Vinos where we will have the opportunity to contemplate the famous Drago Milenario, which is said to be more than 800 years old. You will have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy the Canarian gastronomy tasting one of the menus that we recommend in some of the restaurants in the area.
The next destination is Garachico, a colourful coastal village with a history marked by a volcanic eruption in 1706. Here we will stroll through the streets of its historic quarter, recognised as a Cultural Heritage Site and one of the most representative of the Canary Islands, and discover emblematic sites such as the natural pools of El Caletón, formed by lava flows, or the Castle of San Miguel, an ancient fortress that defended the town from pirate attacks.
We will follow the route and enter the vibrant nature of the Teno Rural Park until we reach the hamlet of Masca, located between impressive valleys and ravines. Let yourself be surprised by the charm of the traditional architecture of this enclave, declared a Site of Ethnographic and Historical Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

MOUNT TEIDE & MASCA EXCURSION
IONEL AIRINEI: 26/06/2025
I recently joined an excursion to Mount Teide and Masca, expecting a day rich in natural beauty and cultural insight. While the landscapes certainly delivered, the overall experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a strong focus on commercial stops rather than the attractions themselves. ???? Missed Opportunities at Key Stops - Icod de los Vinos: Our stop here was limited to lunch at Carmen restaurant. Sadly, the service was underwhelming and rushed, and we weren’t given any time or guidance to explore the town or learn about its famous Dragon Tree or wine heritage. - Masca: The drive to Masca was thrilling, with winding roads and breathtaking views. However, once we arrived, there was no explanation or background provided about the village—no stories, no history, no context as to why it’s considered a must-see destination. It felt like a photo stop, not a cultural experience. ???? Guide & Driver The guide and driver were professional and did their jobs well. It’s clear they were adhering to a set itinerary, likely dictated by company policy. They managed the logistics smoothly and kept the group on schedule. ???? Too Commercial, Not Enough Culture The biggest disappointment was the tour’s emphasis on commercial points—places clearly chosen for their sales opportunities rather than their touristic value. It felt more like a shopping route than an exploration of Tenerife’s natural and historical gems. ???? Final Thoughts This tour has great potential, but the company needs to shift its focus. Tourists come for the stories, the culture, and the wonder of the island—not to be funneled through sales-driven stops. With a few changes, this could be a truly memorable experience. Until then, it’s more of a missed opportunity than a must-do.

SANTA CRUZ TRIP
BARBARA HOWCROFT: 25/06/2025
Thoroughly enjoyed our trips, my only feeling is, that Santa Cruz should be visited last, La Laguna we found a little boring to be honest. If you did the trip the other way round, where at least you had more shops etc at Santa Cruz it would be great.
